There are a few mods which allow you to "discover" things. `The Field Guide`, `Starcatcher`, even `Minecolonies`. This page will detail the most important facts when going around the world, exploring.
This is an explorer's companion - it will document everything you come across, including plants, animals, monsters, even bosses!
To "discover" something, either look at the object with a Spyglass, or with a Camera/Instant Camera. Keep looking at whatever you are scanning for a few seconds, and your discovery should then be logged into your book! You may then also add your own information on each page, but most things should come with their own descriptions.
I know how much you all love fishing, so I've tried to make it extra special this year. Fishing is no longer boring, click and forget action. It now works much more interestingly.
With a normal fishing rod, expect "Stardew Valley"-esque fishing, where you have to click to keep the bobber on top of the fish in order to catch it. Pretty simple and straightforward, and you get the same drops you would normally get.
With a "Starcatcher", it turns into much more of a minigame of timing and expertise, where fishes may even have their own patterns to hit. Upon first spawning in the world, you should have received a "Starcatcher's Guide". This book will detail everything you need to know about star catching.
You may even create your own fishing tournaments for your friends to join!
You may want an easy way to move large distance. Gliding comes into great effect! If you've played Breath of the Wild, it works exactly like gliding there, but if you don't here's the rundown:
you craft a "Paraglider" - this allows you to... well... glide.
you may find "Spirit Orbs" whilst exploring - take these to statues often found in villages to either expand your health, or your gliding stamina
With "Biomes O' Plenty" and "Terralith", our terrain is incredibly diverse this year. There are so many biomes, so many landmasses, so much of everything! Whilst this is great for building, you may be wondering: How in the hell am I going to find the biomes I want?
For that my friends, I introduce you to two wonderful items:
"Nature's Compass" - allows you to search for specific biomes
These compasses will point in the direction of whatever you're looking for. They may be far, but at least you can find them!
Waystones are a bit different in this modpack. You cannot craft them, you cannot pick them up. You are forced to find villages or towers that hold Waystones in order to quickly travel around the world. Of course, you may set up local transportation via rails, horses, boat highways to travel between them.
